The Wartime Leadership Podcast: The Resiliency of NYPD Detective Sophia White is now available! Sophia is a 16-year veteran with the New York Police Department where she currently works within the Chief of Detectives Office. She entered the NYPD as a ‘Queens Marine’ with the 106 Precent where she ascended through the ranks while working with the “Burg Team”, Crime Team, a short stint with the Crime-Scene Team before moving into the narcotics team with the 7-5 Precent. Throughout it all, Sophia has found a balance between the stresses at work and the growth of a new family culture.
During this episode, Detective White takes us through her definition of Spiritual Resilience and how it has manifested in her everyday life both personally and professionally. Sophia has found resilience in helping people who have had a “moment of bad choices” and just needed to be caught and driven towards a moment of life change. She breaks down living through false allegations and how her faith was tested by a stalker. Sophia has learned how to balance her paramilitary/authoritative leadership style at work and the coaching-leader style needed at home.
